Buying a house can be a pretty hectic thing to do as a number of aspects need to be checked out.  But it is all well worth the pain if everything turns out to be great.

But in order to ensure that, the feng shui of the house need to be checked out as a house with bad feng shui may create problems for the houseowner.

In order to ensure that the feng hsui of the house is good you need to check the following.

The very first thing to do is to check out the history of the place as well as it’s the previous owner well.

If you discover that the house has changed hands several times over a short period of time and the fates of the previous owners were not good, and they had suffered from things like health problems, bankruptcy, divorce, suicide, etc you should not buy it.

You should take in the property’s surrounding and see if the norms are according to feng shui or not - like if there is a tortoise in the form of a mountain, a building, trees or fence at the back of the building.

Check if there is a dragon in the form of another house, large fence or tree to the left and a tiger in the right in the form of a tree or small house.
There should be a phoenix in front in the form of open ground, a circular flower border, etc.

Make sure you check if there are poison arrows directed towards the property like telephone poles, lampposts, hospitals, prison or corner of another house pointing outwards.
To combat this, you need to have a ba gua mirror.

The back garden must be larger than the front.

The path to your front door should not be long and narrow but a windy one.

There should not be any trees located too close to the entrance or the front door as that would hinder the chi from entering the property freely.
To counter the problem, you can place statues or pots of plants along the line.

A house with spiral staircase should be avoided as it results in the transformation of positive energy into negative.
To counter that, you must place a faceted crystal sphere in the top to slow it down.

Swimming pools, patios, ponds, gazebos and other structures in the garden
that dwarf the property should be avoided and everything should be kept in proportions.

The property in question should be of a regular shape
and devoid of odd looking designs. Ideally, the property must be square or rectangular in shape.

You must try to look at the property from a broad prospective.

If the property appears to be in the shape of something hostile like a ferocious animal, it is best left alone.

The ground or earth beneath and around the property should be taken into consideration
as one with good energy will have trees and plants growing around with plenty of wildlife.

The trees at the front portion of the property should not be too high.

They should at the most six feet tall or else they would block the chi entering the house.

A house with a straight road running to its front or T- junction’s end
should be avoided.

The back door must not be visible from the entrance.
In case this happens, something should be placed in between or close to the door if there is one in between.

The windows should not be too big or small, but rather balanced.

Too high ceilings or those with irregular shapes should be avoided as domed or flat ceilings are best.
