What is diet soda? Is it really worth relying upon? The introduction of diet colas has brought a sigh of relief to weight watchers. Now they have got something that they can rely on without feeling guilty. So what is the truth behind all these labels that read ‘Diet Cola’? Is there a truth in these labels? Are they misleading?

Well, the truth is that diet soda may be devoid of the sugar or calories that regular soda has but it is still filled with many health-draining chemicals to the brim.
These may include health hazardous artificial sweeteners, caffeine, phosphoric acid, sodium and a lot more. You idea of having diet coke may be to keep yourself away from harmful sugar but you are still filling your body with loads of hazardous chemicals.
Many studies and researches have revealed that use of diet soda can lead to more amount of weight gain. If you seriously interested in doing something good for your body, it would be great to have a glass of filtered water.
Do you know that a regular soda can of 12-ounce consist of about 9 of nine teaspoons of sugar? The sugar is in the shape of high fructose corn syrup. So you are actually drinking a can of ice tea with about 9 teaspoons of sugar stirred into it.
It is actually a liquid candy that you are filing your body with. This is exactly what you are doing to your body when you drink diet soda. No wonder people gain weight after drinking diet colas and sodas.
There is no doubt about the fact that a can of diet soda has fewer calories as compared to a regular one. However, have you ever tried to know how much calories you are actually cutting via switching over to diet soda? Just 5 calories!! Yes.
You may not have realized this but it is true that the switch will just make you lighter by 5 calories. Hence, it would be wise to stay away from market gimmicks and strategies of selling you diet sodas and colas. It is just a trick to make you buy the cola can and drink it without any guilt.
Another problem is that people tend to drink more than they should just because they think that they are drinking something healthy and that has fewer calories. This leads to a lot of weight gain than weight loss. Diet soda is a good alternative when you are feeling a little sick or nauseated.
The carbonated drink will make you feel a little better. However, using diet soda as an alternative to healthy drinks to lose weight is hazardous to health. It will just make you gain weight. Speak to a medical expert about this and he will not recommend diet soda can for you.
The best thing to do is to go for a healthy drink such as lime juice, citrus juices, green tea or lemon tea. This will help you keep calories at bay and maintain a slim and healthy body.
