Diet Together with Your Loved Ones: Follow a Family Diet Plan

It is extremely difficult to make your child eat food, especially when there are a lot of items that you have that kids don't like at all. All or some members in your family may be fond of specific dishes and will expect you to make them every day.

This makes it impossible for you to plan a diet and you may end up including unhealthy products in your daily diet. Don't lose heart! Instead, prepare a family diet that helps each of the members to maintain or shed weight.

SOME TIPS YOU CAN FOLLOW:


1. Include similar food items in your diet. Hence, if you have pizza on a given day, then instead of ordering for one, you can involve your family and prepare a pizza. Don't use hydrogenated oils for making the dough of your pizza.

You can also avoid corn syrup that contains high fructose levels. Do away with pizza sauces that contains too much of sugar.

You can also prepare the pizza using meat and vegetables that have been finely chopped for toppings. Add cheese (mozzarella) for it contains low fat to make your pizza.

This way, you will collectively enjoy a pizza that tastes good. You can follow the same rule while preparing other kinds of dishes such as preparing rice based noodles and spaghetti.

2. Instead of buying readymade food, you can prepare your meals and put it in a freezer. The ready to cook food that is normally available at the grocery stores have a lot of hydrogenated oils, preservatives and sugar added to it.

These ingredients are not very healthy for your body, and it is always better for you to prepare a dish and have it later.

3. If you want to have sweets at the end of your dinner or lunch, then it is always better to have a fruit. Fruits contain vitamins that are vital for supplying nutrition to your body.

Hence, you can easily replace jelly with slices of apple, banana and strawberries.

4. Help your family inculcate healthy eating habits. Hence, place some healthy snacks like pop corn, sandwiches and dry fruits in your kitchen.

5. One of the very important points to remember is that you have to gather information about different kinds of nutrients, minerals and vitamins.




Now, instead of doing it alone, you can make your family sit together and read out all the necessary information. You can also put up a poster that carries useful information about different food items in the kid's room.

Remember, there are several ways in which your family members can be encouraged to follow a diet plan and maintain fitness. Exercising is one of them. Try and make every effort to involve your family into exercises.

You can take up healthy activities and exercises such as swimming, walking, hiking and games like football and tennis, and all the family members can participate in the game together.
