The technique usually includes one or some of the following:

* Laxatives
* Vomiting

Most teenage girls who depend on diet pills and contract typical eating disorders. This develops higher chances of developing serious health conditions.

Many studies and other efforts are being made to understand the actual motive behind teenage girls adopting unhealthy and extreme weight loss techniques.

On researching physical fitness and eating style among modern teenage girls has indicated that girls have become very fanatical about their body type and want to get rid of fat at the shortest possible time.

Physical activity is known to reduce significantly during teenage, especially among girls. This results in excess weight gain. This makes girls hunt for the fastest method to lose weight.

Today, most teenage girls have adopted drastic measures to obtain model-like figures. They are inspired with supermodels and their favorite celebrities.

The craze among teenagers to look like celebrities is so much that they are ready to do anything to obtain figure like them. Diet pills have become among girls at the age of 13!

The market is full of diet pills. Unfortunately most of these are sold over the counter and do not require any sort of prescription. These girls do not realize that they are heading towards a path that will retard their health drastically.

Diet pills without prescription can be fatal. These pills are effective in suppressing appetite. These can also retard one’s desire to eat.

This is also the reason that these pills have been branded unsafe by most of the health care practitioners across the globe. Worst! Some of these pills may also result in severe disorders such as anorexia.

Some of the diet pills available over the counter contain stimulants. These pills have a tendency to raise the temperature of body, heart rate and blood pressure.

Many other weight loss products are available on the market. Most of these contain ephedra, bitter orange extract, green tea extract, and caffeine. The ephedra diet pills are known to be the most dangerous for teenagers.

Abuse and misuse of diet pills by teenagers can result in the following health conditions:

* High blood pressure
* Heart valve damage
* Heart attack
* Stroke
* Life threatening conditions

There are also many cases where teenagers have died due to the use of harmful ephedra and ephedrine products.

If you are a parent to a teenager, then you must stay careful about whether your son or daughter is having these medicines unsupervised.

There are many signs to look for when it comes to knowing whether your child is getting extremely concerned about their weight.

Some of the major signs include non-stop complaining about body fat and weight, regular skipping of meals, obsession about a particular body type, etc.

In case, you see any of these signs, try to support your child and show her the right and healthy way to get the body type desired.
