Windows 8: A New OS With A Completely New Touch Friendly Iinterface

Our prolonged wait for Windows 8 from Microsoft is finally over. Walt Mossberg from All Things D and Steven Sinofsky, President of Windows Live and Windows, together previewed the latest operating system at the D9 conference.

Windows 8 will soon be the master of different laptops, tablets, desktops and many more gadgets. Its home page will be quite similar to its older version, Windows Phone 7 with an additional advantage of a touch interface.

The main and foremost objective to launch it is to make the OS compatible with both desktops as well smaller gadgets such as 8-inch tablets.

There will be several sliding tiles using which users can easily navigate through various programs. This will lead to immense use of fingertips in place of cursors.

Its tile based interface helps users to go through all the programs in a tile format and each program can be accessed with just a finger touch.

Customized Windows applications and applications based on JavaScript and HTML5 are the important applications supported by Windows 8.

It will support Internet Explorer 10 and will be flexible in giving users the weather report as well as updates of stock prices.

It has not been declared officially, but according to some sources, a store link will be available on the beginning page, which will be almost like the Apple store.  

There is no doubt regarding the flexibility of using Windows compared to other operating systems. Windows is user friendly.

Microsoft had declared in January that Window 8 is likely to shore up Texas and Qualcomm instruments, conventional processors from Intel and AMD and Nvidia’s ARM-based chips.

Taiwan’s Computex trade show will demonstrate some ARM-based systems.

The start screen of Windows 8 is scheduled to offer various programs and applications, which will ensure fast access for users.

This is the beginning of the transformation of operating systems for the gen next and a big leap for Windows.

Some of its applications supporting the coding of JavaScript and HTML5 are similar to those on iPhone and Windows 7. In Internet Explorer 10, those applications will be usable in full screen mode.  

Windows 8 Beta would be the next release to come up this September at the Microsoft Development event.

Microsoft is working hard to get success in the tablet market with Windows 8.

Sinofsky said “No compromise” to All Things D mentioned about the aim of creating Windows 8.

However, while the operating system of Windows 8 is all set to take on the OS market, many more questions about the operating system will be answered this coming September at a conference that is scheduled to be held in Anaheim, Calif.
